SHOREWOOD HILLS

One of the best things about the Village of Shorewood Hills, besides the winding, tree-lined roads, gorgeous views of Lake Mendota and close-knit community with year-round events, is the amazing mix of architectural styles. Because it was built over such a long period of time (growth was interrupted by a war or two and the Depression) the mix includes Tudors from the early 1900s, Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan Prairie style homes, International style and some new, modern homes. The neighborhood includes a busy pool, Blackhawk Country Club, an elementary school, ice house, boat house and community garden. It has the highest home prices in Madison and a very low turnover, because, well, it’s Shorewood.
